Learn More About the American Heroes Golf Tour
Another rewarding opportunity for veterans to experience the benefits of golf has recently been announced with a partnership between the Southwest PGA Foundation and the American Heroes Foundation, a Phoenix-based nonprofit organization for veterans and first responders.
American Heroes Foundation operates the American Heroes Golf Tour, which serves as the next step for those who complete the PGA HOPE program, making three levels of programming available for veterans across the Southwest PGA. Learning golf fundamentals is the first step; applying them in the Op36 Wingman program is the second step; and now testing golf skills in competition is the third.
The schedule of events is growing, and the supporting facilities are expanding too. Visit https://www.americanheroesgolf.net/schedule for a list of events, and updated schedules for the 2025-2026 season.
“We are beyond excited to be the official golf tour of the PGA HOPE Southwest,” said Tony Miller, Founder and President, American Heroes Foundation and the American Heroes Golf Tour. “This collaboration represents an incredible opportunity to expand our mission of supporting veterans and first responders through the game of golf. It provides an opportunity to transfer the skills learned through the PGA HOPE program to the course for competitive golf. Together, we will create more opportunities for healing, camaraderie, and competition, while giving back to the heroes who have given so much to our communities and our country.”
The impact of this partnership extends beyond the golf course; it sets the stage for relationships long into the future. Each organization has an overarching purpose of enhancing the lives of our veterans. Each will collaborate on fundraising and community events as part of its Pillars of Hope.
“We look at the Pillars of Hope as a platform for growth and awareness of our veteran population and their families,” said Michael Haywood, CEO/Executive Director of the Southwest PGA Foundation. “The individual service member is one part of that picture, but to understand how the families of veterans play a part in the therapeutic process is a whole other dimension. This partnership has come at the right time and right place for all of us.”
In June, American Heroes didn’t hold back. They came out of the gate with an immediate contribution to the Southwest PGA Foundation and PGA HOPE programming. This contribution enables the Foundation to target new programming in an ever changing landscape of support.
