Cactus & Pine Trade Show and Demo Day

In mid-February, Cactus and Pine, the local chapter of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America, hosted their inaugural trade show and demo day at Papago Golf Club. The event featured 42 sponsors and representatives, including Toro, John Deere, Bingham, Yamaha, E-Z-GO, and others, and drew more than 100 attendees from the Arizona golf industry and golf course team members.

The event showcased high-tech equipment from a range of companies showcasing innovations designed to make golf more resource-conscious. Cactus and Pine members led the conversations as enviromental stewards, prioritizing water conservation, air quality, groundwater protection, pesticide safety, and efficient use of resources.

Cactus and Pine continues to help address key issues that may threaten the health, quality, and prosperity of the golf industry in Arizona. Through advances in turfgrass innovations, integrated pest management, irrigation efficiency, and emerging technologies, the organization supports premium playing surfaces adapted to the Arizona climate, ensuring golf’s ongoing growth and prominence.

WHY IT MATTERS

These efforts are vital in Arizona’s dry environment, where water scarcity and climate challenges are putting pressure on golf course operators to conserve every drop. By leading resource-efficient technologies and practices, Cactus and Pine safeguards the industry’s future, reduces environmental impact, and keeps Arizona’s courses world-class, supporting jobs, tourism, and community access to golf.
