A CHAMPIONSHIP EXPERIENCE FOR THE
ADAPTIVE GOLF COMMUNITY

Contested December 8-10 in the Arizona Golf House’s backyard, the second annual Arizona Adaptive Open Championship teed off with the 36-hole, stroke-play event showcasing the top 60 WR4GD-certified competitors playing for Men’s and Women’s titles across seven impairment categories.

Hosted by AZ GOLF, the championship reinforces a commitment to meaningful playing opportunities for golfers of all backgrounds, skill levels, and abilities. After engagement and planning alongside the adaptive golf community, Arizona’s governing body of amateur golf provided a true championship experience without barriers to participation.

The field included golfers with physical or intellectual disabilities from three countries and 23 states. Competition categories included Lower Limb Impairments, Arm Impairments, Combined Arm and Leg Impairments, Seated Golfers, Visual Impairments, Short In Stature, and Intellectual Disabilities.

A core tenant of the Arizona Golf House, AZ GOLF is a nonprofit founded in 1923 to serve and advance the game of golf in the Grand Canyon State. They engage the local community through championships and tournaments, player development, education, and outreach while providing official USGA Handicap Indexes to golfers statewide. With more than 550 member clubs and golfers of all ages and abilities, AZ GOLF fosters a welcoming, inclusive golf community to ensure the game’s long-term growth and sustainability.
