Images Arizona Magazine Spotlights the Arizona Golf House
Through the eyes of project visionary Gregg Tryhus, Images Arizona takes readers through the timeline, collaboration, and purpose behind the Arizona Golf House.
Created as a collaborative hub for golf in Arizona, the Arizona Golf House was designed not as a single-organization project, but as a shared home that helps the entire golf ecosystem work together more effectively. The goal was never simply to build a facility for the present moment, but to create a space that would help amplify the game for generations to come. That mission extends beyond golf itself to life skills, mentorship, and pathways to help young people get involved and stay connected to the game.
The vision began taking shape when Tryhus was first asked to help relocate the Arizona State University golf teams. In that process, he saw a much larger opportunity: rather than allowing individual nonprofits to work in silos, the Arizona golf community could share resources, unify its voice, and build something with greater collective impact. The result is a space intentionally designed to encourage connection, conversation, and collaboration, a place where ideas can be shared naturally, and partnerships can grow.
Tryhus emerged not only as the visionary behind the project but also as a connector who brought together leaders across advocacy, philanthropy, and golf operations. His perspective reflects a deeper truth about the game: golf is more than a sport. It is a platform for community, youth development, mentorship, and economic impact. The Arizona Golf House was built to serve the people who serve the game, creating a foundation that helps golf continue growing for future generations.
Tryhus finished his interview by saying, “What’s next is for the tenants to take this as far as they can in the Arizona golf world.” His words reflect the handoff of the project, one built on vision but sustained by the organizations inside it as they continue shaping golf in Arizona for years to come.
